I have both apps, and it seems SoundHound is better at picking up classical--or more obscure--music than Shazam is. SoundHound is the obvious winner for many practical reasons. You have to make a test at a greater scale than only a few songs. From my experience, Soundhound found the right tracks that Shazam couldn't find or did find wrong matches. For some other tracks, it was the other way around. So, a test based only on a few samples is not reliable to decide which one is more accurate. I hav both apps on my android and must say sounhog rocks with free tagging and more detailed info.
